TAPP has been working with groups, clubs and associations that are interested in the services that TAPP can potentially provide. It has been providing advisory services and assistance in strengthening capacities of the clubs and groups as a way of preparing for the business or product activities they would want from TAPP.

  • Since its formation , TAPP has had successful projects.  For example the project,  Development of Livestock-Based Food and Livelihoods Strategies for Mawelu Mwanamanga Village in T/A Chiwere in Dowa East Constituency. The goal of the project is to improve the food, nutrition and livelihood security of rural poor households in Dowa East Constituency. The major purpose is to achieve increased food production and diversity, incomes and improved livelihoods of the households and communities of Mawelu Mwanamanga Village, T/A Chiwere in Dowa Constituency. In addition, the project strengthens capacity of communities to maintain the food, nutrition, incomes, employment and hence livelihoods security in the area.
  • Initially, 3 villages got 15 goat does and 1 goat buck each located at villages selected by the community. Similarly, 3 villages got 15 rabbit does and 1 rabbit buck again at villages chosen by the community. Additional 3 goat bucks and 3 rabbit bucks was put on reserve. This means that flocks totalling 45 goat does + 6 bucks and 45 rabbit does + 6 rabbit bucks was established in the area. The offspring from these initial kholas were distributed to other members within the village up until each and every member in the village has received animals before going to other villages. Passing on of animals to other beneficiaries takes place after weaning.
  • Under the project, communities were grouped into clubs and each club was issued with an initial stock of livestock (rabbits or goats). Beneficiary capacity however has managed to benefit from the board and secretariat expertise in livestock through well through well designed kholas, advice on feeding and medication of livestock and general livestock management through the livestock attendant. In relative terms TAPP is strong in organizational and project terms including relationships or collaboration.
